This is on site program that serve clients who struggle with social, emotional and behavioral challenges, and who have complex trauma histories.  Equine therapy provides a unique experience of embodiment and connection with another living creature.  In understanding how trauma impacts neurodevelopment, it is essential to provide therapeutic interventions that promote the mind-body connection. By participating in equine therapy for complex trauma, the client will re- engage in skill development in areas impacted by complex trauma, including emotion regulation, social functioning, executive functioning, and self-identity development.  Outcomes promotes a sense of relational safety for the participant, as well as empowerment and trust. Client will engage in horse related activities with a licensed clinician (LMHC) and equine instructor. 

$160.00 per 60 minutes.

This is action-oriented therapy that focuses on measurable improvement with increased self-awareness and confidence, focus on here and now. Client will engage in horse related activities with a licensed clinician (LMHC) as well as equine instructor.

Our goal while working with each individual is to promote their strengths and resilience to help them in overcoming challenges.  We strive to make a difference in the lives of each person we serve, through individualized, strengths based, holistic treatment.   During sessions we will address areas that include emotion regulation, interpersonal functioning, executive functioning, and self-identity development, alongside with emotional safety.  Our modality allows to promote attachment building, as you learn to attune to the horse’s cues.  The horse-human dynamics explored in therapy can translate to everyday interpersonal interactions, help develop a trusting relationship with the horses, which will transpire in the ability to build trusting relationships with people. It will improve communication strategies, overall social functioning, self-regulation skills, mindfulness.  The sensory input received from the natural rhythm of the horse’s gaits (walk, trot, canter), also promotes mind-body awareness.  This type of sensory-based intervention engages youth in a way that allows them to tolerate and modulate heightened emotions.   Working with horses also allows youth to engage in higher-order cognitive processes, including problem solving, following multi-step directions, maintaining focus, prioritizing tasks to achieve goals, and inhibiting impulsive reactions.   Equine therapy supports youth in building competency, mastery, felt-safety, and developing a cohesive sense of self through direct experiences. These experiences can be applied in the therapeutic process, helping individuals to integrate their trauma experiences effectively.

Will travel to your location, where clients participate in equine activities tailored to their physical and psychological capabilities. Offered to a variety of populations including kids, seniors, and individuals who are unable to venture out into the community. Lesson plans include the following:  Grooming, horse anatomy, horse connection and meditation, horse leading with proper safety measures, and much more.  

$100 per 60 minutes

We loves homeschoolers!  This club was created to fill a need in the community for educational and fun horse lessons.  Please be aware that this is not a competitive or advanced riding team, but an opportunity for homeschoolers to get together with other horse lovers. Participants will receive one ground lesson and one group riding lesson each visit. Examples of topics covered during lessons: equine nutrition, barn chores, grooming, tacking and caring for tack, training horses, breeds and colors of horses, and more! No experience necessary!
